Every now and then I see a post on Reddit where someone will write that they can spend $500 on a gun, asking what they can get. Granted, they do not go into details about their lives or finances, but sometimes I get the impression that a lot of them think that all they need to do is buy a gun, and that once they have bought a gun then their journey is complete. You need to buy more than just a gun, you will probably need to pay for lessons (unless you know someone who can teach you), you will need to buy supplies, and you will need to practice consistently.   • License or permit if required in your state.
  • Home storage (locked case or safe if you have young children living with you).
  • Insurance or legal retention service if you carry.
  • A holster is a good idea if you plan on carrying a gun all the time.
